Rowitta - 5 Days 4 Nights Tour                                                "Rowitta" is the Tasmanian Aboriginal term for "Wombat" 

Immerse yourself in the splendour of Tasmania’s east coast.  This five day tour begins in Launceston and heads to the Bridestowe Lavender Farm.   Explore the spectacular Bay of Fires and the Freycinet Peninsula before finishing in Hobart.  You will see the historical Georgian town of Richmond and head to the fresh environs of the Huon valley, where you will understand where Tasmania gets its friendly reference, the “Apple Isle”.  Get up close and feed kanagaroos and see rare Tasmanian Devils in its natural habitat.  Enjoy many exclusive tastings and behind the scenes experiences.  You will surely depart with lifelong memories of this beautiful island.

Day 1.  Launceston Cataract Gorge

Meet at Launceston Airport and we head to Launceston, Tasmania’s second largest city. Arrive at the picturesque Cataract Gorge with time to explore the suspension bridge and chairlift. Relax as we enjoy afternoon tea in the lovely manicured gardens. Visit a honey farm and sample the unique Leatherwood Honey harvested from the Tasmanian wilderness.

Day 2.  Launceston to East Coast

The first stop is the Bridestowe Lavender Farm to experience the largest lavender farm in the southern hemisphere. Passing through the  wilds of North East Tasmania, we stop to sample award winning cheeses.   We then spend time amongst the blue sea, white sand and orange tinged boulders of Binalong Bay.  Finish the day by heading to Bicheno to see fairy penguins head to shore after a day’s feeding.

Day 3.  East Coast to Hobart

Wake up in the surrounds of the stunning East Coast, and then head to the even more beautiful Freycinet peninsula.  Explore the white sands and take a walk around the lighthouse at Cape Tourville and be amazed at spectacular coastal views.  Take a “behind the scenes” tour at an Oyster farm.    The amazing coastal views continue as we head down the east coast.  Visit an abalone farm to sample fresh Tasmanian abalone with an opportunity to purchase.

Day 4.  Coal Valley & Richmond

After breakfast we head off to Bonorong Wildlife Park where you have the opportunity to feed the native animals including the Tasmanian Devil.  Visit the oldest working bridge in our next stop at the historic town of Richmond.  Spend time amongst the colonial buildings.  We then head to a boutique cool climate winery for exclusive tastings in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Day 5.  Huon Valley & Departure

Head to the Huon Valley.  Visit a private orchard and have homemade morning tea with an “In Orchard” experience amongst the apple trees. Amber through the fruit trees and pick your own apples (seasonal).   Take in the fresh air before transfer to the airport for your home bound flight.
